Description: Selling an original 35mm red border Kodachrome (RBK) slide taken of State Street in Santa Barbara, California. The date of this slide is not given, but the style (where only the word "Kodachrome" appears on a red border) dates from 1941-1949. Beginning in 1950, the word "Kodachrome Transparency" was used on slides, so this is the 1940's. This is about as early as you can get in color in a slide. If you look at the Mission Theater, they are playing two movies: Return of the Cisco Kid which came out in 1939 and Whispering Footsteps which appeared in theaters in 1943. It is likely this slide dates to 1943 when Whispering Footsteps appeared in theaters. The words "Ebay slide scan watermark" are not on the original slide. Buyer owns copyright to any slides purchased from me. I do not save scans of slides. Slides are shipped in a rigid plastic sleeve for protection and mailed in a rigid envelope. Free shipping in the USA.
