Fort Collins Municipal Railway Birney 21 is at Mountain/Mack, inbound on the re-created Mountain Avenue line, operated by the Fort Collins Municipal Railway Society, on May 5, 2019. A former passing siding was located here, but the tracks are still in the street. Fort Collins Muni was one of the first city-owned streetcar systems in the United States, being established in 1919. It was an all-Birney operation, and the iconic four-wheel cars operated until 1951--the last Birney operation in the United States. High-Dynamic-Range (HDR) "Balanced" image, with added Photoshop Old Paper effect, but the streetcar is in full color! (The notation [3B] is for internal use only.) The Mountain Avenue line was one of three routes, and the Society restored original Fort Collins Birney 21, and began operations on spring and summer weekends in 1985. A second Fort Collins Birney, number 25, has been restored by the Society and re-entered service in 2021. 8½ x 11 print from raw digital image. Printed on highest quality glossy photo paper.
