Description: You are bidding on an orignal painting by noted New York artist and illustrator Carl E Noble. This is a nice item fresh from a local New England estate. The painting depicts a family of four doing the Jitterbug , dressed in mid century attire. Noble was commissioned to produce a series of murals as part of the Federal Art Project in the late 1930s and 1940s, and lived for a time in Massachusetts where he apparently worked with Normal Rockwell. The style of this painting is certainly very reminiscent of Rockwell's work. Canvas measures 30" x 36". All of Noble's work appears to be quite scarce. This is a great mid century image.
