Description: “ROSA CENTIFOLIA” ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED BOTANICAL WATERCOLOR IN THE MANNER OF 18TH CENTURY FRENCH ARTIST REDOUTE ORIGINALS This exquisite original hand painted botanical watercolor is in the manner of original watercolors by the 18th century French master botanical artist Pierre-Joseph Redoute (1759-1840). An unknown skilled miniaturist artist created this watercolor on a blank sheet of paper. No mechanical reproduction methods of any kind were involved in its creation. It is titled in hand painted calligraphy below the image: Rosa Centifolia mutabilis. Rosier unique. P.J. Redoute pinx. The image size (mat window) measures 10 5/8 x 7 7/8 inches. Date created unknown. The watercolor comes in the original frame measuring 16 x 12 1/2 inches. The back of the frame bears Certificate from Haring L. Piebenga, President of AM, Inc. Eugene, Oregon and Alfons Woudstra, Managing Director AM BV, Zeewolde, Netherlands. PLEASE NOTE CONDITION: This watercolor is in excellent condition. The colors are crisp clean.
