Description: A very early 1930 issue of a folded pictorial map that McCormick & Co. mailed out to customers from the late 1920's and on into the 1970's. The later maps appear as variants of this first design but are considerably larger in size and also include illustrations of the flags of the world along the bottom portion of the map layout. This rare 1930 issue map, at a more compact size of 18 in. X 16 in., depicts the world continents in a very attractive graduated sunburst color scheme that is overlaid with the routes of famous aviation pioneers while many small and detailed illustrations of period airplanes, blimps and ships cover the world oceans. World country names and boundaries are also shown. The outer corners of the map have small vignettes that depict the cultivation of the company's products in various parts of the world while the lower section of the layout lists the individual countries and their exports. Colorful and detailed illustrations of the laborers that cultivate and harvest the company's products from various countries of the world line the bottom border. Lastly, the decorative map title cartouche and compass rose add the final vintage elements to this very nice example from the early age of pictorial maps. This map is in VG+ condition with beautiful color throughout and virtually no wear or loss at the folds or edges. This map will be shipped rolled. Sheet Size: 18 in. (45.7 cm) X 16 in.
