Description: Original antique lithographed map of Alaska and part of northwestern Canada, printed more than 115 years ago. It shows the steamship and overland routes to the gold fields, along with a table of distances, including mileposts along the Chilkoot Pass approach to Dawson City. Some of the specific detail on the map includes Dalton's Trail, Bound's Trail, Fort Yukon, Rampart City, Nulato, Lake Labarge, Anvik, Holy Cross Mission, Forty Mile, Ogilvie, Weare, Tanana River, Dutch Harbor, Dyea, and the Pacific & Arctic Railway. The image area measures 32 x 48.2 cm [11½" x 19"]. The map is copyrighted 1904 in the lower margin by the Crowell Publishing Company of Springfield, Ohio and was published in the 1905 edition of The Twentieth Century Peerless Atlas and Pictorial Gazetteer of All Lands. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with two vertical folds, as issued, and no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. It would make a handsome display in your den or office. It would also make a perfect gift, and we'll include our helpful framing tips for your reference, along with a photocopy of the dated title page from the book in which it was published. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. There's a map of the Philippine Islands on the reverse side, in similar style and format. Buy with confidence!
