This map was published in 1900, four years after gold was discovered in the Yukon, and it it labels numerous camps, trading posts, forts, settlements, Indian villages, and natural features. It locates the White Pass & Yukon Railway from Skagway to the Tahkeena River, the proposed railroad from Old Auke Village to John Callbreath's Trading Post, and Lake Labarge, the setting for Robert Service's famous poem "The Cremation of Sam McGee." Among the other named places and features are Seward, Juneau, Sitka (the capital of Alaska Territory), Kodiak, Mount McKinley, Great Bear Lake, Mackenzie River, Nome, Fort Get There, Dawson, Valdez, Igloo, Orca, Sumdum, Chilkat Village, Tyoonuk, Homer, Bristol Bay, Holy Cross Mission, Senati Camp, Porcupine River, Rampart House, Point Barrow, Tanana River, Fort Selkirk, Kenai, and many more. The image area measures 33 x 51 cm [13" x 20"]. There is a mileage scale in the title block, longitude is measured from Greenwich and Washington, and there's an index to chief cities in the left margin. The map was published by George Franklin Cram in Cram's Unrivaled Atlas of the World, Chicago, 1900.
