Description: Original 1891 antique color lithographed map of Austria-Hungary, printed more than 130 years ago. The image area measures 31.5 x 47.6 cm [12½" x 18¾"], and the map shows railways, roads, canals, steamship routes, submarine cables, battlefields, forts, fortifications, and topography, drawn in relief, with heights in English feet. There are inset plans of Budapest, Prague, Trieste, and Vienna. Other named places include Transylvania, Danube River, Moravia, Salsburg, Innsbruck, Bohemia, Temesvar, Pressburg, Dalmatia, Budweis, Lemberg, Tyrol, and Kraków. Bosnia and Hersegovina are shown as under Austro-Hungarian rule but were not fully annexed until 1908. The map was issued as Plate 26 in Library Atlas of Modern Geography, published by D. Appleton & Company, New York. It is dated 1891 in the lower margin. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with a vertical center fold, as issued, and no marks, rips, or tears. It is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side.
