Description: An original cast iron plane body for a Zenith brand No. Z607 jointer plane by the Marshall Wells Hardware Company, Duluth, Minnesota. The Zenith 600 series planes were made for them by Sargent and they are identical to the Shaw Patent series, in this case, the Sargent No. 22. The front of the plane has been milled where the Sargent markings were cast in the body, but the Shaw Patent information remains in the base behind the frog mechanism. This plane was designed for use with a cutting iron measuring 2 3/8" in width. It is in excellent condition, retaining fully 95% of its original black japan finish.
