Description: Description: Lovely black and white book print from 1901 of a sketch drawn by Sydney P Hall illustrating the opening of the Commonwealth Parliament in Melbourne by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall & York. This was part of the Royal Tour of the British Empire in 1901 by Their Royal Highnesses. Before the tour actually started they became The Prince and Princess of Wales, due the death of Queen Victoria. In 1910 they became King George V and Queen Mary following the death of King Edward VII. Dimensions: It measures approximately 245mm x 160mm (9.5" x 6.25"), including borders - actual print size (not including borders) measures approximately 175mm x 115mm (7" x 4.25"). Condition: Excellent condition for a print that is nearly 125 years old. No significant foxing, creasing or marking, although some ageing and wear is inevitable for its age. Will look superb mounted and framed. The reverse side is blank. Please look closely at the photograph I have taken for condition. Provenance: "The Web of Empire" book printed in 1901. Please note: this is an original print extracted from a no longer usable dis-bound book and is not a reproduction. Posting and Packaging: Carefully packaged in a boarded envelope and posted by Royal Mail. Happy to combine postage for multiple items purchased, where possible. Please contact me for amended invoice prior to making payment. Please feel free to ask any questions and contact me if there are any issues with the print. Every effort will be made to resolve any problems. Thanks for looking.
