Description: RARE ONE-OF-A-KIND Hall China Co Test Plate with Red Swirl w/ Homer Laughlin Factory Label WOW Collector's Ultimate Find! This plate was made at the Hall China for Homer Laughlin following the acquisition of Hall China Company from HLC in 2010. This plate was made after the acquisition. Very unusual 6-3/8" bread / side plate! Where will you ever find another one? Carries a rarely seen double marking with the typical Hall China ink stamp next to a Homer Laughlin test piece sticker in a likely one of a kind non-production hand-painted design. Under the clear glaze, but hand applied, hand-painted spiral in a red-tinted color. Unusual, because Hall China was the only company to do really good true red vintage pottery, but this is odd because it has a red stripe around the edge, and then the hand painted spiral that is rough to the touch under the clear glaze. Homer Laughlin / Hall China Co - employee invention that didn’t make it past testing? Have fun with this one! Center mounted on the end of a stick and get yourself dizzy with this piece! Hah! Condition: Excellent overall preowned condition. No chips or cracks. Hand painting has little to no wear, but is rough to the touch from the hand applied methods for this piece. Has a piece of kiln sand stuck to the bottom. No issues for this experimental test plate. See all pictures.
