Description: These are a set of four replacement case feet for many models of the beloved Olympia SM2, SM3, SM4. These case rubber feet mount on the inside and outside of the curvy-style hard shell cases used on some of these typewriter models to protect the case bottom and allow the typewriter to be used while still in the case. If your original case feet are even there anymore, they are likely crumbling and hard. These are easy to install, and specially designed to look like the originals but with improved Sainsmart TPU synthetic rubber and tapered edges to resist catching on something and being pulled off. This is a somewhat flexible and somewhat glossy synthetic polymer which is very strong at the same time. This listing consists of 4 sets of SM2 / SM3 / SM4 Case Feet. Each "case foot" consists of 2 halves which mount through holes the bottom of the case, one part inside and one part outside. They mate together and stick together pretty well with no other adhesive. If needed, perhaps some rubber cement would help, but as these are made from somewhat flexible TPU regular glue won't adhere to them. As far as I can tell, they are sufficiently mated together that they should not come out during normal usage.Note that I have another listing with typewriter feet and spacers for these same machines: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175042333200** I can also make these with more flexible (i.e., grippy) NinjaFlex material, please message me before you order if you prefer these (most people will want the original (more rigid) version, and can just click "buy"). Please message me with any questions, but installation is rather simple. You need to take a pry tool or flat screwdriver and work the old feet loose, being careful not to damage the case. The old feet are likely hard and rotten, and the two halves will probably not come apart, but will need to be broken up until you can pull the halves apart and out. The new feet just fit into the original holes and press together until you have a tight, smooth fit against the case body. I designed these to be nearly an identical replacement, but with the advantages of modern 3D printing technology we can engineer materials that were previously impossible. I printed with Sainsmart TPU polymer (https://www.sainsmart.com/products/all-colors-tpu-flexible-filament-1-75mm-0-8kg-1-76lb) which is very strong (but a knife or scissors will cut it, just like rubber!), flexible, and slightly gripping on most surfaces. They are printed in Gray (see photos). I designed these for my own typewriter as shown, and this is an experiment to see if it's worth my time to make some more for the community. I like to share these designs so you can print your own, but for some (including this one) for now I'm not doing that as I invested considerable time on this design. Compatibility Info: Your responsibility, please don't order unless you checked! As far as I can tell, this should fit all SM2, SM3, and SM4 curvy hard shell cases from about 1951 to 1962 so long as they look like my photos. The Case Feet do not fit the later rectangular softer cases, or some hard shell cases with no holes for case feet (unless you want to cut out your own). PS: Ebay's volume discount display is a bit confusing, each purchase is a FOUR SETS OF CASE FEET (4 male and 4 female halves) to refurbish one SM case, so picking "1" is one set of 8 halves (refurbish 1 case); "2" refurbishes 2 cases, etc. You get one set as described only, everything else pictured such as typewriter and metal hardware is NOT INCLUDED.
