Vintage Pairpoint Glass lead crystal cup plates are works of art that feature intricate designs and decorative elements not commonly found on modern glass. They can add a touch of elegance to a collection or home decor. The 3.5 inch cup plates were handcrafted on Cape Cod using traditional techniques. The artisan created a steel mold with hammer and chisel for each intricate design, and then hand-pressed molten glass into the engraved mold using an antique press. This hand process created a series of cup plates that are similar, but not identical. The irregularities highlight the handmade nature of each piece. Each cup plate has the artisan's initials and the Pairpoint trademark embedded within the design.
