This amazing teapot was hand made in the late 1950s and is of exceptional quality. An incredible red and yellow angular design has been hand sprayed upon white enamel. Inspired by the 1950s atomic age, this is one of the most iconic designs Emo Celje produced and is sought after by collectors worldwide. The teapot shows superb form with its tapered sides and rounded lid. The shape is eerily similar to the 'Fat Man' atomic bomb that released its misery on Nagasaki, Japan in 1945. The lid is tethered to the teapot with a small metal chain. A large rolled red handle is hinged to the teapot with two large brass rivets. The spout has a lightly angled design and pours extremely well. This mid century teapot has a 1.5 litre or 6 cup capacity with plenty of room to spare for tea bags or loose leaf tea. The base of the teapot bears a stamped Emo Celje crest along with "Made in Yugoslavia" and the number "14". Size & Weight This rare teapot measures 18.5cm in length, 14cm in width and stands 17cm in height not including the hinged handle. With the handle raised, the teapot is 23cm in height. Condition Presented in excellent vintage condition. Minimal chips and age-related wear to the enamel finish, although far less than expected for a piece that is over 60 years old. As can be seen in the pictures, these imperfections further enhance the visual appeal of the piece and shows its age in a very dignified and beautiful manner! Minimal staining to the inside of the teapot and it is also excellent condition. The markings on the base remain crisp and clear. The wonderful condition shows that this incredible teapot was reserved for special occasions and spent most of its life as a display piece. This is an absolutely incredible and rare mid century teapot that will make an outstanding addition to any Emo Celje, Enamel Ware, Kitchenalia or Atomic collection.
