Description: Grand Rapids Brewing Co. - Brown - This bottle is from the pre-prohibition era. The Grand Rapids Brewing Co opened in 1893 and closed in 1919 due to prohibition. It is embossed “GRAND RAPIDS BREWING CO.” Along the bottom edge it is embossed “THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD REGISTERED”. It measures approximately 9 1/2” tall, 2 5/8” in diameter and is amber-brown. It is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The embossed lettering is lightly scuffed especially at the bottom. Since this is an early bottle, it has many imperfections which give it character. It has very noticeable raised side seams and many flects, bumps, and bubbles throughout. There are also some striations inside the neck from the production process. Has a bit of tape residue on the outside and needs to be cleaned on the inside. It is a piece of Michigan brewing history.
