Description: This is a classic Okinawan overglaze enamel Tokuri Sake Bottle Vase - signed “Okinawa Ebisu (?) Gama (Kiln). This style of Okinawan pottery was much admired by Bernard Leach and had a very significant influence on Shoji Hamada. Mr. Hamada frequently used overglaze enamel decoration on his pieces because of the influence on him of this notable ware. This was purchased some years ago from Xanadu Gallery in San Francisco.
