Description: ARTIST: Gunnar Bundgaard (1920-2005) is a well-listed Danish artist, whose works have been offered multiple times at auctions. He was born and raised in Mariager – a small village near Mariager bay in Jutland. In his early years he bicycled around in the local area and painted rural scenes. Later, he also made portraits of members of the royal family, but his absolute favorite scene is a field with cows. PAINTING: Oil on canvas. This is a classical painting from Gunnar Bundgaard with a mixed group of Danish milk cows resting near Mariager bay. This black-and-white race is closely associated with the Danish countryside – especially in Jutland. A small flock of gulls can be seen flying over the water. The painting is dated to 1963.
