Description: Excellent original tintype of 17-year-old Arthur Alexander Ambler posed with an odometer cart. His identification and age were made from period writing on the album page this tintype was originally inside of... see photo #2... but please note this is for the tintype only, the album page is NOT included. Ambler was born in late 1854, so this tintype was made circa 1872. There is some info to be found on Ambler online.. he was from a farming family in Ohio, and was later a mechanical engineer and inventor.. I found a patent in his name for an odometer.
