Description: Oberheim Xpander Desktop 6-Voice Synthesizer XP-1 - Vintage Synth Magic The Xpander and Matrix 12 synthesizers are among the most flexible non-modular analog synths ever built. Capable of creating thick analog basses, pads, and textures, the sound is truly amazing. The Xpander is a six-voice desktop version of the Matrix 12, sharing an identical voice architecture with it. Each of the six voices has an impressive array of features, including five LFOs, five different wave shapes, and five envelopes that can repeat themselves, sync to an LFO, and have other features like a lag processor, three tracking generators, and some ramp generators. The 15-mode filter and user interface make all of this accessible. The Xpander even has CV/gate to MIDI conversion capabilities for communication with older synths. There are six CV and Gate inputs that use standard 1V/8va CV and positive gating, allowing you to connect up to six external sources delivering CV/Gate and convert that into MIDI. The Xpander offers ample output options, including stereo and mono outputs as well as six additional individual audio outputs (one for each voice), enabling you to use the Xpander as a stereo polyphonic 6-voice synth, as six individual mono synths, or any combination in between. The Xpander is used by some of the greatest musicians of our time, including Cirrus, Josh Wink, Astral Projection, Vince Clarke, DJ Sasha, Chemical Brothers, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Nine Inch Nails. Although previously used, the Xpander is in great condition for its age both cosmetically and functionally, and will make any collector happy. One thing to note is that the Volume knob has a slightly scratchy potentiometer when adjusting but is completely fine once left in place.
