Description: NEW WITHOUT TAGS: EXTREMELY RARE unworn, wider Charles Tyrwhitt tie featuring woven stripes in the classic "Brigade of Guards" pattern of equal stripes in navy blue and dark red. Very authoritative and substantial tie. From back when CT was a more exclusive brand, before founder & owner Nick Wheeler decided to make the push into mass catalogue marketing and brick & mortar shops. Back then, they basically had just their Jermyn Street premises in London plus a modest web presence, and used to sell high-quality ties with quite a lot of silk in them. Those were, frankly, much nicer ties than the quality level of what they sell now (leaving aside their Italian-made solid grenadine-weave silk ties). This is one of those older, wider, nicer ties. Bought this new from CT, never wore it. 3.75” wide by 58" long. [NOTE: CT stopped selling ties this wide some time ago. They sell 3" and 3.15" ties now. A lot of tie wearers are particular about widths, and will understand that this is a rarity.
