The inspiration for the layout theme comes from a specific scene in Ingmar Bergman's Persona. Silver on black labels. 400 copies on black. A superb pairing of new and old become anew once again. The Viennese duo Novy Svet is making music after an extended silence, and this 7" is the first new material available besides a very scarcely distributed yet excellent split 7" with Susa24 (member from Santa Espina, see BH-76). The sounds that emanate from the pair of Jürgen Weber and frl. tost are extremely unorthodox for the dark folk milieu, in that they are not afraid to reach out in many non-traditional directions; multi-lingual lyrics, broad genre bending and meshing, and an over-all style that could be perceived as rather modern, a perfect fit for the curatorial standards of Black Horizons. Spettro Family, from Milan, Italy, is a new project that has quickly gained attention, and rightfully so, as he has his own unique Mediterranean take on cinematic prog horror scapes.Sleeve is printed with silver and gold ink on black linen card stock.
