Description: This auction is for a NOS Autolite XP Iridium Spark Plug Display. I used the word new as it was never opened or used but I did obviously test it and assembled it for photos. As a presenter at an automotive trade show, this was given to me several years ago. It’s from Crew Design with a date of 2005 molded into it. It’s intended to be placed on the counter at the auto parts store. What’s neat about it is the spark plug tip flashes simulating a spark. It’s actually a blinking blue LED. It's powered by 3 AA batteries. Yes, it’s made in China so I always get suspicious. I assembled and turned on the switch. Sure enough it flashed, yet stopped after several seconds. My first response was “Chinese junk!” Yet after some thinking I realized the small hole in it at the lower left corner is a motion detector. It needs to see motion for it to work. Turn on, get some flashing then it waits for motion. Seems you can’t just keep waving at it to keep it flashing as there is a several second reset time. The front panel measures approx. 5 ½ by 7 1/8 inches. The artwork is some sort of vinyl or sticker. There are a few spots where there’s a small air bubble or fold in it (Chinese quality).
