Description: This is a stunning, antique berry or condiment ladle by the Norwegian designer Julius Marinus Frisenberg. The hallmark shows J. Frisenberg and 13 1/4. The "13 1/4" is a LOTH mark for silver fineness or content. This piece is approx. 83% silver. The LOTH marks were used in the 1800's and were replaced by the the current "parts per thousand" marks of 830S. This replacement happened in the mid 1870's. Therefore, this piece would date to the 1860's or possibly the 1850's. The bowl is round and has been gilded in gold (vermeil). The ladle measures approx. 6 1/2 inches in length. The handle is straight and topped by a wheat motif design. This is a magnificent piece in excellent condition. This is a rare item that would enhance any collection. Ship to US only by USPS. International ship by Ebay International.
