Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful antique carnival glass bowl made in the early 1900s by Northwood. It is made of amethyst glass, with intense rainbow iridescence. The pattern is called WISHBONE, and is pressed into the top surface only (the outside of the bowl has a basketweave pattern). The bowl has a scalloped edge, formed into a beautiful pie-crust shape at the rim. This pattern is quite scarce with this color and edge treatment. This bowl measures 9 3/4 inches (24.8cm) in diameter, and stands 2 1/2 inches (6.4cm) tall to the rim. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the first two pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. Picture three shows the bowl in natural sunlight (no camera flash) and picture four shows the pattern in detail. This is a very nice antique carnival glass piece for your collection! The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, hairline cracks or scratches. One of the small scallop points is not smooth -- it might have a tiny chip, but it's too small to get a clear picture. There are also shear marks (straw marks) present, from when the molten glass was loaded into the mold. It is marked in the center with the Northwood N circle mark (picture 5).
