Description: Noritake Art Deco Bowl Dish Hand Painted Lady Orange Luster Green M Mark Japan c.1918. Antique/Vintage About the Dish On offer is a beautiful vintage Noritake/Morimura, art deco, orange luster dish/bowl with a central hand-painted motif of a lady accepting a drink. The woman is dressed in the art deco style. I have listed the piece as NEW since there are no signs of use at all. The orange luster and hand painting are exquisite! The green Noritake/Morimura backstamp dates the piece to have been produced c.1918. The M in the center of the backstamp stands for Morimura: "...The history of Noritake china dates to 1876, when Japanese businessman Ichizaemon Morimura and his brother Toyo opened Morimura Brothers in New York City. ... There, he encountered the brilliance of French porcelain, which inspired him to create similar wares for the U.S. market."
