Description: NOTE: Only one of these consoles is remaining, and it does not include the red front port cover. Please keep this in mind if purchasing this last unit. This listing is to purchase a fully working Nintendo Famicom console. All of the electrolytic capacitors inside of the console have been replaced as a preventative maintenance measure due to the age of these units. New thermal paste has also been applied to the voltage regulator for this reason. The console and attached controllers have all been thoroughly cleaned. Note that power and audio/video cables are not included with the console. Please read below for important details regarding what is needed to use these consoles successfully and to avoid damaging a Famicom unit. Power Requirements Please be aware that the power adapter for the Nintendo Entertainment System released in North American is not compatible with Famicoms, and you can damage your console if you plug in this or any other incompatible power supply by mistake. Famicoms are rated to use a 10 volt DC center pin negative power supply capable of delivering at least 850 milliamps of current. The Model 1 Sega Genesis and Sega Master System both used AC adapters that met this requirement, and are popular choices if shopping for a suitable AC adapter. Look for model numbers 3025 or 1602 on a Sega branded power adapter if you choose to pursue this option. Note that although the Super NES power adapter meets the voltage and amperage requirements, the stock tip does not fit into a Famicom. If looking for a more modern power supply, then make sure that whatever you use is center pin negative. Most modern electronics use center pin positive power adapters, and plugging in an AC adapter with the incorrect polarity will not work and may damage your console internally. During our testing and when taking the photo showing gameplay, we were using the Sega model 1602 AC adapter. Audio/Video Requirements Famicoms only support displaying video and audio via RF. Additionally, channels 1 and 2 in Japan correspond to channels 95 and 96 in North America, respectively. You will need a TV capable of displaying analog video through at least one of channel 95 or 96. The official NES RF adapter, part number NES-003, works with Famicoms for outputting video and audio to a television. During our testing and when taking the photo showing gameplay, we were using the NES-003 RF adapter. We were also able to get video and audio using a generic RF adapter, although the quality was noticeably worse. Additional Notes The photo showing gameplay is only to demonstrate functionality; the game, power adapter, and RF adapter used in the creation of that photo are not included in this listing. This listing is console and controllers only. The exact console that you receive may not be the one pictured, but will be of comparable quality. The Famicom that we took photos of was considered to be in the worst physical condition of the four being sold. From a functional standpoint all the consoles are equivalent. The fourth console sold will not contain the dust cover on the expansion port; if there is adequate time before the sale of the fourth console, then this listing will be updated to better reflect the lack of dust cover. Warranty We cover the functionality of all Famicoms purchase through this listing for 90 days starting from the date of receipt. If your Famicom has issues during this warranty period that were not caused due to abuse or neglect, then please message us through eBay.
