Description: NICELY CARVED & SHAPED REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD PRIMING POWDER HORN, IDENTIFIED With Initials!! DESCRIPTION: Another really nice & unusual antique Revolutionary War period powder horn from my personal collection, used to carry gun powder by individual riflemen for use with their flintlock muskets. This one has nice curves and a nice shape, has a very nicely carved pouring end. It is a priming horn and measures almost 8" along its length. Pouring end is nicely carved and the STYLE OF A REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD PRIMING POWDER HORN, which are not often seen. This one is owner identified by 2 large initials carved into the butt plug as shown. Appears to be a "C" and an "S". Unfortunately I have no idea who the owner was, but nice to see that he liked this enough to identify it. Has a number of tiny early handmade iron nails to hold the wooden butt plug in. This has all the attributes, design, style, smooth patina, size, and look of a Revolutionary War period horn. It has a nice look, for addition to a collection or to hang on the wall or with a musket over a fireplace. Has an old piece of rawhide with it, but not early or original to the horn. Very good condition for its age, with only 1 tiny hole, as shown. Tiny and only visible from one side. A particularly nice horn. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!
