Description: Nice Vintage Webley Tempest Variant I Overlever Spring Pellet Pistol .177 in very good cosmetic condition and perfect operating condition, with ORIGINAL manual and exploded parts diagram and are also included on a data CD (not shown in pics) along with a lot of other useful information - and I am including an extra breech seal from JG Airguns as a bonus extra to include with this sale. Serial number 015639. I am selling this one because I do not shoot this nice pistol regularly so it needs a new home! The iconic Tempest and the Hurricane are essentially the same pistol with different bodies and the Tempests were redesigned into the Hurricane -- and interesting story. The non-adjustable trigger pull is between 2-3 pounds. These are the ones still made in England and imported by Beeman. They were later made in Turkey at some point and not of the same quality. I believe this to be a Variant 1 model and The San Rapheal address on them adds 20% more than the regular value. This one was likely made between 1977-1985. One of the interesting things about this overlever model is that it has very little recoil due to the design and with the proper ammo and the proper shooting technique are reasonably accurate field pistols - the Hurricane and the Tempest are not designed to be precise target pistols, but they sure are fun to shoot. This Tempest had a 5-shot chrony average of 446 fps with 7.9gr Crosman wadcutters so it's shooting close to specs. This pistol has been lightly used and I am the second owner. It is an iconic long-out-of-production model so it is becoming more valuable and certainly a collector's item. Additional features include: OAL 9.2 inches, black fixed front sight, rear adjustable sight for elevation and windage, plastic grips with RH thumbrest, aluminum grip frame cast around steel body tube, RH manual safety, black epoxy finish, 32 oz. frame, and a 6.8 inch rifled steel barrel. The Tempest is not designed to be scoped. This one is also an exceptionally clean specimen. This pistol has plenty of other info and reviews on the web so I don't plan to provide a dissertation extolling the virtues of this airgun, so please feel free to do your research to decide if this is an airgun you would like to own. You will see why it is a very nicely designed air pistol for its time - and even now.
