Has a great appearance and has the classic oval NANTUCKET BASKET shape, with cover and handle, as shown in the scans. Typical NANTUCKET STYLE, with wooden base, wrapped rim, finely woven, etc. CURVED, 2-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE, ROUNDED AT THE BASE, ETC. Really nice shape and very well made.....have to see it to really appreciate it. Also nicely lined on the inside.Especially nice with bone decorative whale on cover!!! Especially nice and nautical motif.Nice vintage size and shape. HAS ALL THE APPEARANCES OF A CLASSIC NANTUCKET BASKET POCKETBOOK. Very substantial and well made. Has great patina and shape, and would be a nice pocket book and great decorator!! Nice for a variety of uses as well. Nicely made and has nice muted colors. Also has a nice looking weave and design to it, as shown. Hope my scans do it justice.Wood base at the bottom is about 4" x 6", and basket measures about 8" x 10 1/2" at the top. 7" tall. Very neat shape and classic NANTUCKET style. Very good condition. Only flaw is that 1 of the rear hinges needs to be repaired and the front closure strap is missing.
