Description: This offering is for an early original large mounted photograph of a Greek Sculpture of Niobe. The image is hand titled at the bottom "NIOBE". The image has the back mark of F. B. Fay. According to information I found on-line Fay "was noted as a daguerreian in Tiffin, Ohio as early as 1853 and as late as 1864. In 1859-1860 he was listed in Tamb's Block, Perry Street, third floor, in partnership as Tunison and Fay. An alternate directory listed the partnership on Main Street, opposite the Court House, the same year. Fay was also active in Steubenville, Ohio, until 1879". The image is quality is very nice with good contrast and focus. The overall size including the mount is app. 10" by 12". Otherwise there are no bends, creases or tears.
