Description: Antique Stag Antler Meat Carving Set Sterling Silver Very nice quality carving set with stag handles and ornate sterling silver bands. This is a better than average set. It looks older than most I see as well. I think this may be circa 1840-1860 or so. I don’t see a mark anywhere other than just “sterling”. The knife and fork clearly saw much more use than the sharpener/honing rod. The stag handles started the same color but the knife and fork handle have changed color a bit via continuous use. The hinges fork rest may have been removed at some point. Conversely it may have been an option to purchase the fork without this feature. Surely some folks preferred their fork without the cumbersome rest in the way. The set is in fine condition with just typical age related wear and patina. I hope someone loves the fancy silver bits on this set as much as I did. Ships ASAP! Thanks
