Description: No Reserve!!! A great view of the gallery of battles in Versailles France by Lamy circa 1860s.The view has a label on the front as "105. - Au Centre de la Galerie des Batailles (Palace de Versailles)" and depicts a front view of this gallery. The stereo effect is good between the statues in the foreground and background. The photographer is Ernest Lamy who worked out of Paris France in the 1860-70s and was a very prolific photographer of many countries during this short time. Some history of this gallery: The Galerie des Batailles "Gallery of Battles" is a gallery occupying the first floor of the Aile du Midi of the Palace of Versailles, joining onto the grand and petit appartement de la reine. It is an epigone of the grand gallery of the Louvre and was intended to glorify French military history from the Battle of Tolbiac (traditionally dated 496) to the Battle of Wagram (5–6 July 1809). I will combine shipping with any of my other stereoview auctions AND I will ship internationally I am starting to sell my large collection of Stereoviews (5k left) again after a 2year hiatus. Please stay tuned!!! "
