The sensor's battery should last about a year at one hour per day, without the backlight; the sensor's battery will last approximately 6,250 miles. If the computer has not received a signal in 10 minutes, it goes into power-saving mode, displaying only the time; after two weeks with no signal, it goes into sleep mode.
