US Army blimp TC-2 exploded over Langley Field in Virginia when a bomb it was carrying detonated prematurely. Two of the crew of five were killed. The blimp was about 150 feet in the air when it exploded. The photo is 6” x 8” with the paper tag glued to the bottom. The photo is clean and good. The tag is rough and tattered as well as faded.
