The $46 million Quail Lodge auction ($108 million including the Thursday Maranello Collection sale) featured record-setting Ferraris, Maseratis, a Napier, and more. Friday's record-setting Ferraris included a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB featured on the catalog cover. It sold for $3,850,000 setting the steel-bodied, non-competition, 3-carburetor model record. A 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider brought $2,640,000; a 1993 F40 LM sold for $2,200,000 and a 1967 330 GTC brought $1,017,500. Among the other notable results: a 1912 Speedwell 12-J Speed Car the only Speed Car in existence which achieved a surprising $869,000; a $181,500 1962 Austin Mini Beach Car that brought more than any customer Mini sold at auction; and Elvis' 1963 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Touring Limousine that sold for a record $396,000. A 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4.7-Liter Coupe sold for $385,500 and its convertible counterpart, a 1969 Maserati Ghibli 4.7-Liter Spider, brought $814,000both record-setting sales. And the $1.034 million price tag on the 1908 Napier Type 23A 45 HP 7-Seater Touring was another record-setter. The separate sale of ten superb Ferraris from Fabrizio Violati's renowned Maranello Rosso collection, August 14, 2014 in conjunction with the Quail Lodge sale.
