Product Description: This item for sale is a new-old-stock (NOS) Campagnolo Gran Sport "Victory" 53T chainring. At least I believe its the Victory model chainring based on the design and BCD specification noted below. We also believe it's mid 80's vintage (as this was the production window for Victory model components). We don't usually come across Campy chainrings from this era, as we are more likely to find Campy copy chainrings that are generally more readily available. So this is a fairly rare occurrence for us (as there cannot be many of these available in new-old-stock condition...and especially in their original packaging). As for other observations and specs., we noted the traditional beveled teeth, a milled (and not stamped) production process and chamfered (or grooved) bolt-holes on the label side of the chainring to better accommodate a flush mounting of the chainring bolts (assuming a large chainring position on a double crankset). We should also note there is no chain guard pin, which is another indicator of it's vintage...since we believe we started seeing these pins in the late 80's. This particular chainring has a bolt-circle diameter (BCD) of 116 mm, so it is compatible with select vintage Campagnolo and equivalent cranksets, but I don't believe this Campy BCD measurement was as popular as their 144 mm specification from this same vintage era. More specifically, I believe the 116 mm BCD was only spec'd to the Victory and Triomphe double cranksets from around the mid 80's. It's also worth noting this chainring is not compatible with newer Campagnolo double cranksets, as Campy changed their BCD specs to 135 mm for their newer models from the mid to late 80's and thereafter). Lastly, we measured the width of the teeth to be about 2 mm (or 3/32") thick, so this confirms it's a derailleur driven road chainring...for a vintage Campy (or compatible) double crankset. With respect to condition, there is some light shopwear, as this chainring has been stored for many years in its original packaging, but that packaging consists of a thin paper sleeve. Functionally, it's new and unused, and the teeth show no visible signs of wear, corrosion, etc. Terms and Conditions: You may visit our store by clicking on this "Store Home Page" link and please note the product categories on the left side of our "Store Home Page". Note to international customers regarding shipping... We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
