But an HP "Warranty Ends" date is not an "expiration date" or similar "cutoff" date. In other words, those inks won't simply "shut down" just because their "Warranty Ends" dates have been reached. From my experience of over 20 years buying, selling, and using HP inks, you'll still get a great value in terms of quantity and quality of output for the prices I've set (based on my checking actual completed eBay sales' prices for comparable date/condition genuine sealed HP 970XL and 971XL series inks on eBay). Source, Condition and Photos: As mentioned above, we obtained this ink from a government surplus agency. As a department replaces printing equipment, they often end up with supplies they no longer need. To offset expenses, the user sends them to a surplus supplies warehouse, which in turn sells off such supplies, some of which I buy and then resell on eBay. The item isn't sold in its original box, meaning you have no idea how old it is, or whether the condition of the missing box if you could see it might suggest that the item, even if still sealed in a bag, might not be in the best condition. Never forget that a "new" item could be over 10 years old! By contrast, my photos highlight any areas of an item's box that have more than slight "shelf wear", and I always by photos and/or text share any information I have about any date(s) displayed on the box. 2. Sometimes sellers use only "stock" photos from a seller's inventory, or even use the manufacturer's brand new stock photo, sometimes adding a "disclaimer" that "warns" you that what you'd get might not look like the photos. I won't use a stock photo from any source that isn't a 100% fair and accurate representation of what a buyer on a listing of mine would actually get, and other than items that look like they just came out of a sealed case from the manufacturer, I'll never use a manufacturer's own stock photos. 3. I don't "pad" my shipping charges by charging an unreasonably high flat rate when I charge anything for shipping at all, to use those charges as a "profit center" to offset charging a low "buy" price just to "lure you in" as some other sellers do. I also don't charge materials, handling, or similar seller add-on fees to offset a low "buy" price. Please keep the above facts about some other eBay sellers of comparable items in mind while comparison shopping. You will often find that while others may charge a lower "buy" price to get your attention for an item that appears comparable to one of my own listings, you'll save money buying from me with my shipping charges and/or my "buy" price. And if you think any of the above listing prices are "sneaky", and could mean that other things are going on with those sellers that you'd worry about if you only knew what else they might be up to, you might take that into overall consideration of who you want to do business with. I'm just doing the best I can to try to "level the playing field" here, by helping you to be an informed shopper. While my approach to listings can increase my own out of pocket shipping costs, and takes me far more time to prepare listings than the "bare bones" style listings many others use, I hope you'll find my approach is worth it to you.
