Description: This is a 1960's Single Signed Nellie Fox Baseball. It comes with a full letter of authentication and grading from PSA (H56868). The Signature was graded a 7 and the baseball was graded a 5 for an overall grade of 6. Fox was one of the best 2nd basemen in MLB history and the 3rd most difficult to strike out. "Nellie was the toughest out for me" Hall of Fame pitcher Whitey Ford once said. "In twelve years, I struck him out once and I think the umpire blew the call." Fox died at the young age of 47 in 1975 from skin cancer. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997. His early death has resulted in a thin supply of single signed baseballs for the Hall of Fame autograph seeker. This beautiful ball bears the side panel inscription reading "Best Wishes to Walter Walker, Nellie Fox." The ink rates a consistent 7/10. Fox was an AL all-star 15 times and he won the AL MVP in 1959 (a rare feat for a 2nd basemen). He won 3 Gold Gloves and had a .288 career batting average with 2663 hits.
