Description: This listing is for Neil Armstrong's personal General Thomas D. White USAF Space Trophy citation, with its original frame. This award was presented to Armstrong on April 29, 1970. The award has been signed by Robert C. Seamans Jr. (Secretary of the Air Force, NASA Deputy Administrator), John Ryan (Air Force Chief of Staff), Leonard Carmichael (Chairman, Smithsonian Institution), and Melvin M. Payne (President, National Geographic Society). The certificate is 13.25" x 10.25" (sight), framed to 14.25" x 11.25" overall. After receiving this award, Armstrong kept it in his private collection until his death in 2012, at which point it went to Janet, his first wife. When Janet died in 2018, the collection was passed down to their sons, who decided to sell most of it in a series of auctions from 2019-2020. I won this item directly from the final auction. To maintain the items' provenance, they hired CAG to authenticate and certify each item. Their original COA is included. It's been signed by Armstrong's sons, and encapsulated in a tamper-proof case with CAG's hologram sticker. The only way to open the case is to break it, so you can be certain that the COA inside is original. The winner will receive the exact items in the photos, so please refer to those for a closer look. Thank you for viewing this listing!
