Description: Presented is a wonderful antique American sterling silver stickpin. This piece dates to the late 1800s or very early 1900s. The pin is made in the form of an ornate battle axe or halberd, with finely engraved foliate scrollwork on the blade. The shaft of the stickpin makes up the handle of the axe, and the stickpin has an attached stopper/cap at the bottom, on a fine silver chain so it can't be lost. This piece is stamped sterling on the back of the axe blade. The pin is in great condition. The details of the decoration are nice and crisp. The lower portion of the shaft is a little wavy, but this is mostly obscured by the cap/clasp at the end, and with the shaft going through fabric it is completely unnoticeable. The pin measures about 3 7/8 inches long. This pin weighs 5.2 grams. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
