Detailed Product Description: Gem Species: CORUNDUM Hardness: 9 Density: 3.95 RI: 1.76 These natural Sapphires are heat treated most likely in the presence of Berylium which can bring out these vivid colors. Chrysoberyl gets mixed in with lots of Sapphire rough and the heat treator is often unaware that the Berylium from these assists in enhancing the colors. They never claim anything other than typical heat treatment since it is near impossible to discern or prove even with GIA level testing equipment. We mention it here because in our experience colors like the fiery orange and lemon yellow are very uncommon with heat treatment in lots with only Corundum. Fine Cut = Precision cut or visually imitates a precision cut. These stones have equal and symmetrical faceting with proper cutting angles ("critical angle') and depth. Depth is between 60% and 70% of size listed. Size can vary +-0.1mm. 2-3mm (millimeter) gems are very small - less than 1/8 inch. AA+ = face up eye clean, some inclusions may be visible to the eye when viewed from the bottom. Keep in mind that you are seeing much more in the photo than you can see with the naked eye, most times over 20x magnification. Dust, fingerprints and flash reflections are exaggerated in photographs. Smaller sizes will have progressively less color saturation than photo.
