The items weighed on the scale are in grams. Vintage Zuni Sterling Silver & Turquoise Petit Point Ring unsigned measuring 13/16” tall and 3/16” wide. The turquoise stones are set in a saw-tooth bezel setting with raindrop accents. The jewelry will be shipped in the silver jewelry box pictured. The Zuni Indians began creating Petit Point Jewelry in the 1940’s. Still to this day, this jewelry is created almost entirely by Zuni Indians (some Navajo too); therefore, it is not made anywhere else in the world! It is among some of the most in-depth and labor-intensive jewelry to create and very impressionable wearable art. To create this incredible sterling silver ring, each bezel (usually saw-tooth in style) is individually shaped and soldered. The stones (normally Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and Mediterranean Red Coral) are cut, glued to matchsticks, shaped, and polished by a grinding wheel.
