When he defeats them in the championships they find a way to not only reverse the decision but ban him for fifteen years. What they didn’t expect was an American sports agent who helps make Cliff a household name. Add in that he falls in love with his main rival’s daughter and you have a perfect situation for some great comedy. I love British humor and this one is really fun. This kinda reminds me of a British “Happy Gilmore” for some reason. The script from Tim Firth is fun and director Mel Smith knew what to with it. Star Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones) is excellent here as is James Cromwell as his rival. Vaughn is perfect as well and in fact there is not one bad performance in this film. The DVD comes with interviews and trailers, I wish there would have been an audio commentary. This is a really good flick and highly recommended great NL film. Thanks for checking out this item!
