Description: Original NASA Apollo Saturn I Rocketdyne H-1 Rocket Engine Inconel-Silver Brazed Engine Bell Section. The material is so durable that a Diamond Saw was needed to cut it. All surfaces were them carefully burnished to allow easy handling. Inconel is a Chromium and Nickel alloy chosen for it's excellent high temperature strength, corrosion resistance and strength to weight ratio. These Inconel "tubes" were brazed together with a high strength Silver/Gold alloy for maximum resistance to deformation and heat conductivity. These tubes carried cryogenic fuel to keep the critical parts from over heating during engine burn. The basic dimensions are: Approximately 2.75 inches long by 2.8 inches wide by 0.5 inches thick.
