Description: Click HERE to see my full selection of Narex chisels and rasps This chisel is made by a highly respected tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and is of exceptional quality. The blade is made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blade will take and hold an excellent edge. The blade is accurately ground and has a slimmer cross section that woodworkers prefer. As with all fine edge tool, it will need sharpening/honing before use. This chisels is an excellent value in a good quality tool. This blade is 50 mm (2") wide and is 6 1/2" long. The handle is made from super hard European Hornbeam and is 5 1/2" long. Overall length is 12". Bevel is ground at a 25 degree bevel. The blade has a well-seated heavy steel tang and the handle has a brass ferrule to withstand vigorous mallet work. In the August 2008 issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine, the Narex chisels earned Author's Choice for "Best Value" in the western style bench chisel category.
