Description: Well lookie what I found in the back of my bookcase! I read the book once carefully when I purchased it. This volume has sat untouched in the back of one of my many bookcases (not exposed to light or elements) ever since...I really forgot about it...so I think it's time that it found a new home! Penny Parker #16 Swamp Island by Mildred A. Wirt, FACSIMILE First Edition published by Amereon House. EXTREMELY LIMITED EDITION of only 80 copies! Hardback book with dust jacket. The Jim Towey created jacket has no tears or chips and is protected under a clear mylar cover. I did note that there is about 1 1/2" on both spine ends that are more of a pink, where the middle portion of the spine of the jacket is a bit more salmon in color. I don't remember noticing that when I received the book...and since it has been in the back of a bookcase with no light exposure I'm guessing that's how it was at printing...but I'm not positive...I just want you to be aware of it...check out the photos. The front and back cover are pink and white respectively. The book is a beauty! Sharp, tight, crisp and clean. It was read once very carefully. I probably wore white gloves when I read this one...no I'm not kidding...that's what I used to do! The only flaw in the book is on the "To the Reader" page (which is basically the copyright page). Mr. Towey had added a sticker to the page and it has popped off over the years. I still have the sticker in the book, but there is a little darker residue on the page (which can be seen on the title page too) where the adhesive had bled through.
