Description: Back in 1964 departments looking for new fire apparatus were faced with a choice of expensive custom chassis units or cheaper models based on commercial chassis. American LaFrance began to sell truck featuring the Pioneer cab. This was a hybrid between a commercial chassis rig and a custom model. The Pioneers ran from 1964 to 1978 in three different series: I, II, III. Internet research has shown that these trucks were built in almost every configuration that the 900 series and the later Century series were. These cabs offered seating with rear facing seats just like its cousin the 900 series and grandfather the legendary 700 series. The boys in design have been working hard to bring out several versions of this truck. This is a model on American LaFrance Pioneer engine company. This engine has the pump controls on top of the pump. This allowed the engineer to be able to view the fire scene no matter which side of the truck was facing it. It will look great at a fire scene, firehouse, flat car load, or in a parade. I'll be adding more as time permits. Some flash removal is required, Some models will require basic assembly.
