Description: Museum of Fine Arts Boston MFA , Chinese Paintings: Yuan to Ch'ing Periods, 1961 Large bound loose folio collection produced for the museum by Kojiro Tomita and Hsien-Chi Tseng. This volume is large in both volume and mass, measuring about 19" by 13.5" and weighing about 18 pounds. Color and collotype plates by Korinsha, Kyoto, Japan. English text printed by T.O. Metcalf Co., Boston. Very good overall condition as shown - photos are of the exact folio available for sale. Set is complete with outer case, reference books (one each in English and Chinese), and 178 prints. Outer case has only light wear with some minor spots of discoloration here and there. Joints of the leaves are in very good shape and the bone clasps and their corresponding loops are all present. Reference booklet front covers have some yellowing, more so with the English language copy which has some pattern to it (imprint from the case's leaves). Prints are in nice shape - a few of the lot have been hung up at some point and have adhesive remnants to their reverses. Most prints have kept a good color but some have some age related darkening as seen in the examples. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding condition prior to purchase.
