The carousel needs a push to start rotating and will turn for a few seconds and then stop. And you push it again and it will turn and once again stop. It keeps doing this but I did notice as the unit warms up it will run for longer before stopping again. Sometimes it will even stop, and then start itself. I am guessing it must either need to be lubricated or perhaps a belt replacement. For this reason it is being sold AS IS. The music plays fine.
