Illustrated throughout with nice steel engraved plates. Large hand colored folding map on bond paper at rear (clean with short splitting on a couple fold lines, right wide blank margin with some loose paper). Attractive publisher's cloth binding, embossed title lettering, spine, & cover decorations. All edges gilt. Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Binding gently age worn but still appealing, covers spotted and rubbed, remains overall attractive as a physical object of this era. Text block paper is age toned and foxed as typical, internally book remains mostly tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but does not look like a new book. This is an antique old book which has been handled over the past many decades. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
